Transparency
Our vision is to make luxury accessible to everyone - without sacrificing quality or design. We want to move away from the fast pace of the jewelry industry, towards more transparency, sustainability, and affordable, high-quality products.
The jewelry market is dominated by either (fast-)fashion jewelry made of low-cost materials (e.g., gold-plated silver, brass or stainless) or high (over)-priced luxury brands.
Unlike fashion jewelry such as gold-plated silver, brass or stainless steel, the gold color of fine gold jewelry (solid 14K and 18K gold) does not wear off, discolor or cause skin intolerance. Only a stamp on the gold jewelry - called a hallmark - guarantees the quality of precious metal jewelry and is a visible sign that a piece of jewelry is authentic. The hallmark indicates the fine gold content of the gold jewelry. The purity of gold is historically expressed in karats ("K") and represents the purity in parts per thousand:
18K gold is made of 750 parts of fine gold out of 1000 parts by weight. 18K consists of 75% fine gold, 25% of silver and copper and is marked with a stamp "750".
GOLD AS INVESTMENT
Everybody knows it, but nobody talks about it. Fine gold jewelry can also be an investment: The price of fine gold (measured in weight, per troy ounce = 31.1034768 grams) is determined daily on the stock exchange and quoted in US dollars. Fine gold jewelry has a real (material) value, which is determined by the number of karats (fine gold content - indicated by the hallmark), the weight of the jewelry and the daily gold price. Due to the measurable value of fine gold jewelry, it is perfect to be given as a gift, inherited, or you can melt it down and make a new piece of jewelry out of it if you wish.
